Vinted Users Voice Frustration Over Size Modifications
Shoppers are voicing their frustration after an update resulted in items being listed as the wrong size.
The second-hand shopping app has revised its measurement guidelines for women's and children's clothes but did not contact all users about the change.
Social Media Backlash
Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display a different size category versus the original listing because of the remapping.
The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with other platforms.
The platform has recommended to review their products and update the measurements by hand if necessary, resulting in member annoyance.
Measurement Approach Modifications
Previously, the measurements included numerical and alphabetical indicators, like S/8 or M/10.
The revised method features an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10.
In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but is now a UK 16-18.
Shopper Accounts
One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".
"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.
Another user, based in Glasgow, explained products she uploaded with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as larger sizing 20-22.
"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she explained.
Manual Updates
Another shopper, located in England, explained she became annoyed because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizing for "all her products".
"For me this is particularly frustrating, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount following partial earnings loss," she said.

The service features exceeding 100 million users, comprising 18 million UK members.
It has emerged as a preferred choice to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change within the service has received backlash: previously, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
